An update for our anonymous (unregistered) users
As more people use Red Hand Analytics, we are introducing a few limits for anonymous uploads to help keep free PCAP analysis reliable and available to everyone.
What is changing
- PCAP files can be up to 100 MB.
- Anonymous analyses have a lower priority in the processing queue.
- Uploads are limited to one per hour per IP address.
What changes with a free account
Creating a free account removes or significantly reduces these limits:
- The PCAP file limit increases from 100 MB to 500 MB.
- Your analyses are placed ahead of anonymous analyses in the processing queue.
- The one-upload-per-hour limitation is removed.
Creating an account is free and only requires a valid email address. We do not ask for any other identifying details, and we use your email only for account access and essential service communication, not for spam.
Why we are making this change
Using Red Hand Analytics anonymously still provides plenty of room to analyze network captures and get useful results. These limits help us manage the resources we have allocated to complimentary use and keep Red Hand Analytics available to as many people as possible.
